Coffee table gun safe – Changing your home decor is fun, but need not be expensive if you think creatively. Shabby chic furniture still in vogue and brightly painted old furniture can look as good as or even better than new. An old coffee table can be given a whole new life with a sensible coat of paint. Careful preparation is the key to a successful makeover project, so make sure you have enough time and materials to adequately prepare the surface for painting.

It’s easier to use water-based (latex) paints, oil-based paints, but can give a better finish. Prepare an area to work. You should fix old sheets or newspaper on the floor, as otherwise the paint and sawdust gets everywhere. You may prefer to work outside, especially if you use an oil-based paint which emits fumes.

Prepare your coffee table gun safe for painting. An existing coffee table already coated with paint or lacquer, both of which will prevent new coat of paint from sticking. Take some fine sandpaper and sand all table surfaces (including the legs and sides). Sand lightly; you just want to remove the gloss, not sand the wood down. Wipe the table clean to remove dust. Prime coffee table using a brush and a white water-based (latex) primer.
